Price tag revealed for Derby County, Middlesbrough and Hull City target

A report from the Express has said that clubs wanting to buy Motherwell’s young winger Jake Hastie will have to pay a £300,000 compensation fee to secure his services. Clubs reportedly interested in the winger include Derby County, Middlesbrough and Hull City.

Motherwell winger Jake Hastie – who has caught the attention of Championship sides Derby County, Middlesbrough and Millwall – will only cost a £300,000 compensation fee, the Express has revealed.

Hastie is out of contract with Motherwell at the end of the season and after exploding onto the scene in impressive fashion in 2019, clubs have been alerted to his situation. At the age of just 20, buying clubs would only have to pay a £300,000 compensation fee to the Scottish side.

A number of clubs from England and Scotland have been credited with interest in the winger. Championship sides Derby County, Middlesbrough, Hull City and Millwall have all been keeping tabs on Hastie, while Scottish Premiership sides Celtic and Rangers are also keen. League One Portsmouth have also been linked, as have MLS side Atlanta United.

Of all the sides chasing the youngster, Rangers are the club leading the race. The club opted out of talks to sign Hastie earlier this month but have now reportedly returned with an offer to try and bring Hastie to Ibrox.

The Scotland youth international has played an influential role in Motherwell’s side since returning from a loan spell with Scottish Championship side Alloa Athletic. In 16 games, he has scored seven goals, providing one assist along the way as well (Transfermarkt).
