Brentford are battling it out with Burnley and Huddersfield Town for Hibernian defender Kane O’Connor, according to Edinburgh Live.

Championship side Brentford are battling it out with Burnley and Huddersfield Town for Hibernian and Scotland youth international defender Kane O’Connor.

Kane O’Connor put pen to paper on a professional contract at Hibernain in January 2017. He was on the bench as Hibernian won the Scottish Youth Cup in 2017.

The 18-year-old is believed to be planning to visit all three clubs and hold talks with them over a potential move before making a decision on his future.

Kane O’Connor is set to feature for Burnley’s Under-23s in a friendly game against Huddersfield Town, who are also interested in signing the young talent.

Championship side Brentford are also set to invite the Kane O’Connor to train, before he makes a choice.

The youngster is yet to make his competitive first team debut for Hibernian, but was an unused substitute for the Irn Bru Cup third round win over Turiff Utd.

At the weekend, Brentford were involved in a thriller against Derby County. Brentford hit back on three occasions to earn a draw which kept Derby County outside the Championship play-off places.

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank spoke to BBC Sport after the game: “Some parts of the game was brilliant, especially the second goal I enjoyed that a lot.

“I thought the character in the team was brilliant coming from behind three times. I think we had a spell of 25 to 30 minutes in the second-half where we absolutely dominated the game. But we need to score and take our chances, if we got 3-2 up I’m 100 percent sure that we win that game.

“I’m not satisfied that we conceded three goals and also missed a couple of chances. We need to do better and we need to emotionally stay in the game, no matter what happens.”
