West Brom linked midfielder reiterates desire to leave Premier League club

Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden has once again reiterated that he still holds the desire to leave the club in the upcoming transfer window.

West Brom were keen to bring in Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden during the summer transfer window, with the former Arsenal youngster keen to move further down South in order to be closer to his family.

However, the transfer window passed and Hayden remained a Newcastle player, with manager Rafa Benitez unwilling to allow him to move away with no replacement coming in beforehand.

Hayden has nailed down a place in the starting eleven at St James’ Park over the course of the second half of the season but has once again said that nothing has changed and he wants to move on.

Speaking to the Newcastle club programme (quotes via Birmingham Live), he said:

“I think I’ve made it very clear to the club’s hierarchy and the fans. I’ve got my side of the story out – I’ve made it pretty clear how things go. I don’t think there’ll be many questions.

“I don’t think summer’s going to be an issue. It’s pretty well documented how I feel. But it won’t change my mentality.

“When I wasn’t playing, when I got sent off, when I was playing, when I was in the stands, it didn’t change my mentality of training hard and doing the correct things and it never will.

“That won’t change, even if I didn’t play another game or kick another ball for Newcastle. That’s just how I am.”

Hayden was on the radar of West Brom during the January window, when Darren Moore was still the manager. With Moore departing, it is unknown whether the club will continue their pursuit of the midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window,
