Reliable journalist Alan Nixon has said that Derby County are leading the chase for Aberdeen midfielder Graeme Shinnie, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Derby County are ahead of three fellow Championship sides in the chase for out of contract midfielder Graeme Shinnie, journalist Alan Nixon tweeted on Sunday morning (see tweet below):

Reports emerged last week claiming that Derby County were pursuing Shinnie, alongside fellow Championship sides Sheffield United and Bristol City. Scottish sides Rangers and Hearts are also reportedly keen and they have now been joined by Wigan Athletic, it has been claimed.
The midfielder is out of contract at the end of the current season and a number of sides have registered interest as they look at the possibility of bringing in the Scotland international on a free transfer. Derby’s concerns regarding their financial situation mean they will have to look to cut costs where they can.
The 27-year-old has been a mainstay in the Aberdeen lineup since joining from Inverness C.T in 2015. Playing at both left-back and defensive midfield, Shinnie has conjured up 182 appearances for Aberdeen, collecting 12 goals and 24 assists along the way.
Prior to his time with Aberdeen, Shinnie played 187 games for Inverness, where he made his breakthrough into professional football.
A move away from Scotland would be the first time Shinnie has played outside his country of birth, but he is highly rated North of the border. His experience in Scotland and versatility could prove valuable for Frank Lampard’s Derby County side.
