Steve Bruce “interested” in permanent deal for Sheffield Wednesday loanee

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Sheffield Wednesday manager is “interested” in a permanent move for loaned in winger Rolando Aarons.

Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons could make his loan move to Sheffield Wednesday permanent at the end of the season, with Owls boss Steve Bruce reportedly interested.

Newcastle United are set to move on some of the club’s fringe players during the summer transfer window, with up to six players possibly departing. And, the Newcastle Chronicle has said that Aarons could be one of the players to seal a move away on a permanent basis.

The 23-year-old has fallen down the pecking order with the North East giants since the arrival of Rafael Benitez. He burst onto the scene as a youngster in 2014, but he has since struggled for regular game time.

With that being said, Bruce could be offered the chance to bring the winger back to Hillsborough – something that the former Sunderland boss is keen on.

Aarons has made a strong impact since his move to Sheffield Wednesday. He joined on loan for the rest of the season on transfer deadline day along with fellow Newcastle man Achraf Lazaar. In his nine appearances for the club so far, he has netted once and provided one assist, with his strong performances helping Wednesday back into the play-off chasing pack.

The winger has made no secret about the fact that he is thoroughly enjoying his time with Sheffield Wednesday and both Bruce and the club’s fans have warmed to him in his short time at Hillsborough.
