Frank Lampard discusses Derby County’s injury list ahead of Stoke City tie

Derby County manager Frank Lampard has provided updates on a host of the Rams’ injured players, with positive news emerging regarding Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett.

Derby County manager Frank Lampard has said that midfielder Tom Lawrence is set to return to the squad for Wednesday night’s home clash with Stoke City.

Lawrence has missed the club’s last four games through injury but is set to provide Lampard with a selection boost for tomorrow’s game.

The manager provided updates on midfielders Mason Mount and Craig Bryson as well. The pair are set to return to training over the course of the international break and will hopefully return to the side against Rotherham, Lampard has revealed.

“Tom is in the squad tomorrow and Mason won’t be in the squad, but him, along with Craig Bryson, will be training and resting over the break and hopefully ready to go for Rotherham at home at the end of the month and onwards,” Lampard said to the club’s official website.

Lampard went on to provide an update on attacker Mason Bennett, who hobbled out of Derby’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday. After revealing that Bennett had suffered a groin strain, he said that he is also set to return after a well-timed international break.

“He has got a groin strain and it should be two to three weeks, so the other side of the international break,” he said. “It has timed quite nicely if it can be. Hopefully, we can get him right for after that. It is at the good end of the diagnosis and hopefully short-term.”
