Derby County and Hull City interested in Scottish Premiership forward

Championship duo Derby County and Hull City have both been credited with an interest in Motherwell forward.

Scottish Premiership side Rangers are leading the race for the highly-rated 19-year-old, according to Sky Sports.

Hastie has burst onto the scene for Motherwell over the past couple of months and has scored five goals in his last eight games.

However, the Scottish side are sweating over his future and could risk losing him on a free transfer in June. They have offered a new deal to him but he will be weighing up his options with plenty of Football League clubs reportedly interested.

Leeds United and League One side Sunderland have also been linked over recent weeks but both appear to have cooled their interest.

Derby are in the race for the Play-Offs under Frank Lampard and already have one eye on summer recruitment. Hull City also have top six ambitions of their own and have tended to opt for young talent over the past twelve moths as their renaissance under Nigel Adkins continues.

Rangers look the likeliest to land Jake Hastie at the moment which would be a blow to the Football League clubs showing an interest in him.

Steven Gerrard’s side are 2nd behind bitter rivals Celtic and eight points behind them. Therefore, they are looking to bolster their squad this summer to help mount another challenge for the title next season.
