West Brom ‘keen’ to sign Premier League loan duo permanently

According to the Birmingham Mail, Championship promotion hopefuls West Brom are ‘keen’ to sign loan duo Dwight Gayle and Mason Holgate on a permanent basis if they win promotion to the Premier League.

If they win promotion to the Premier League, West Brom will reportedly look to sign Premier League loan pair Dwight Gayle and Mason Holgate permanently this summer.

Both Gayle and Holgate have impressed in their time at the Hawthorns and the Baggies could move to extend their stays beyond the end of this season.

Newcastle United striker Gayle joined the club in the summer transfer window and he has proved to be a good signing by Darren Moore. He has netted 16 goals in 28 league games so far, providing seven assists along the way as well.

A deal could be struck between West Brom and Newcastle during the summer window, with the Magpies keen to sign Baggies loanee Salomon Rondon permanently. The two clubs could pursue a permanent swap deal with both parties interested in a possible deal.

Holgate joined the club on loan for the remainder of the season during the January transfer window and has made a good impression in his 11 games for the club. He has provided an impressive three assists in the Championship from right-back.

As mentioned earlier, however, the report writes that potential deals could hitch on the matter of promotion to the Premier League. Transfermarkt writes that Gayle and Holgate are valued at £10.8 million and £6.3 million respectively, but the Premier League sides could ask for more given their strong form throughout this season.
