Oldham Athletic yet again concede a late goal as Stevenage earned a point in a frustrating 1-1 draw at Boundary Park.
Paul Scholes’ starting eleven consisted of Iversen, Hamer, Edmundson, Clarke ©, Hunt, Dearnley, Maouche, Missilou, Nepomuceno, Baxter, Lang.
Latics made a promising start to the game as Zak Dearnley tried his luck from 18 yards, but couldn’t keep his effort down.
Shortly after Gevaro Nepomuceno had a strike at the Stevenage goal, but Paul Farman was equal to it.
Stevenage attacked Latics, and QPR loanee Ilias Chair produced a well struck free-kick but Oldham Athletic goalkeeper Daniel Iversen managed to keep the attacker out.
Just before half-time, experienced striker Alex Revell had a blistering strike from the edge of the box and it brilliantly tipped onto the crossbar by Daniel Iversen.

Early in the second half, Latics took the lead through Jose Baxter. He received the ball from Gevaro Nepomuceno and he drove at the Stevenage defence before firing a strike into the bottom corner from 25 yards (1-0).

Gevaro Nepomuceno almost extended the lead when had a strike, which look destine for the top corner, but was denied by excellent save from Paul Farman.
In the 90th minute, Kurtis Guthrie met Ilias Chair’s corner to equalise and take a point away from Boundary Park (1-1).
Stevenage nearly won the game when Ilias Chair’s free-kick came back off the woodwork.

After the game, Paul Scholes spoke to Manchester Evening News, and he said: “I was pleased with the way we played today but we didn’t quite have the quality we needed in the final third.”
“We need to manage games better.”
“I thought this was a winnable game and I know we’re capable of winning every game.”

The performance as a whole I thought was really good. It should have been 3 or 4 before they scored and it’s a joke really 3 last min goals in a row. We’re not ruthless enough though. Least Scholes has realised Nepo is a winger as he we awesome today #oafc
