Swansea City star reveals squad has not given up on play-offs ambition

Swansea City playmaker Bersant Celina has said that they have not given up on their hopes of earning a place in the Championship play-offs yet.

With fourteen games remaining, Graham Potter’s Swansea City side currently sit in 13th place, having collected 44 points from 32 games. Their points tally leaves them seven points behind 6th placed Bristol City in the final Championship play-offs spot.

While some would say their chances of winning a spot in the top six this season are slim, Swansea City playmaker Bersant Celina has said ahead of their trip to Sheffield Wednesday that they are not giving up on their play-offs push just yet.

“We’ll be looking to start up there in the same fashion we finished the previous game,” Celina told the club website.

“We’re going there full of confidence and will try to win. The boys still believe we can get in the play-offs and there’s no reason why we can’t.

“We have a chance to do well in two competitions and, hopefully, at least one of them will be successful.”

Celina joined the club in the summer transfer window and has impressed under Graham Potter. Featuring in 29 Championship games so far this season, the Kosovan international has provided four goals and four assists.

He has also performed strongly in Swansea’s FA Cup campaign so far. He has picked up two goals and assists and put on a brilliant performance in the Swans’ 4-1 win over fellow Championship side Brentford, providing a goal and two assists as Swansea earned a place in the FA Cup Quarter Finals.
