Wantaway Premier League midfielder linked with West Brom and Aston Villa reveals clubs are waiting to sign him

Throughout the January transfer window, Championship duo West Brom and Aston Villa have been heavily linked with a move for Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden.

Early on in the transfer window, it was reported that West Brom had a loan bid rejected for Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden. Magpies boss Rafa Benitez was unwilling to let the midfielder leave with an injury crisis leaving Newcastle with just Hayden and youngster Sean Longstaff available over the past few weeks.

It has been reported that the midfielder will only be allowed to leave if a replacement comes in before. It is well documented that Newcastle United are far from big spenders under owner Mike Ashley and that has not changed this window, meaning that Hayden’s departure hasn’t been sanctioned.

With deadline day nearing, Hayden has come out to say that clubs are waiting for Newcastle to sanction the move and remain keen.

“It is what it is. I can’t change it. It’s up to the football club,” Hayden told the Newcastle Chronicle.

“We’ve had on-going discussions and there’s only five days (as of Saturday) left now. The clubs that are interested in me are waiting, and the clubs that I want to go to are waiting.

“It’s just a case of whether Newcastle say: ‘Yeah, you can go’. If they say that, I can go. That’s where it is really.

“Whatever happens, I’m just going to enjoy playing football and work as hard as I can in training, and in the games. That’s all I can do.

“If it’s not in January, then we’ve got three months until the end of the season and I’ll give 100 per cent if I’m called upon. If I’m not, then I’m not.”

West Brom boss Darren Moore has been keen to bring in a new midfielder for the second half of the transfer window. Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald has also been linked with a move to The Hawthorns.
