Hull City goalkeeper keen on loan move away

Hull City goalkeeper Callum Burton is keen on going out on loan again this month, as per a report by Hull Live.

The 22-year-old has spent the first half of this season on loan at National League side Chesterfield and played 22 times altogether for the Spirerites.

Burton has now returned to Hull but wants to move out on loan to a Football League side to further his development.

The young shot stopper has told Hull Live: “I’m trying to get another loan to go out and experience football. I would prefer a Football League club to get my first chance in the Football League but you never know.

“My contract runs up but I have got an option. That’s in the back of your mind as well because you want to make sure you’re playing games and impressing for Hull as well as anyone else who is watching.”

Hull currently have David Marshall and George Long as their goalkeeping options and have youngster Will Mannion out on loan at Aldershot Town, meaning there is room for Burton to be let out again.

Burton joined Hull in July 2017 from Shrewsbury Town but is yet to feature for the Tigers’ first-team. He was loaned out to Salford City in the last campaign.

The ‘keeper started his career with the Shrews and played once for their senior side, as well as gaining experience out on loan at non league sides Workington, Nuneaton Town, Southport and AFC Telford.
