Ipswich Town set to loan out first-team duo this month

Janoi Donecien and Danny Rowe are set to leave Ipswich Town on loan this month, as confirmed by Paul Lambert in his press conference today.

The former Norwich City and Aston Villa boss is looking to put his own stamp on the Tractor Boys this month and is anticipating some more comings and goings from now until the end of the transfer window.

Donecien, who is 25-years-old, only joined Ipswich in the summer from Accrington Stanley. The deal was initially on loan but it was made permanent at the start of January. He has fallen down the pecking order since Lambert came in and is likely to leave for more first-team opportunities.

Winger Danny Rowe is expected to follow Donecien out of the exit door at Portman Road. He has played just three times in the Championship this season having spent time on loan in the last campaign with League Two side Lincoln City.

It appears the former Macclesfield Town man will spend the remainder of this season out on loan again. His contract at Ipswich expires in 2020.

Here is what Lambert had to say on the situation in his press conference today: “First and foremost the lads have got to play, I think that’s important. My job is to try and make this football club as good and strong as it possibly can be.

“Those two lads definitely need games. They’re two lads who haven’t featured as much under myself, I can only pick 18 guys.”

It will be interesting to see where they both end up.
