Hull City set sights on Scottish Premier League midfielder

Hull City are keen on Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie, as per a report by Hull Live.

The in-form Tigers are also keeping tabs on Southampton striker Sam Gallagher and Middlesbrough’s Ashley Fletcher, as reported by The72 earlier today.

Shinnie, who is 27 years-old, is out of contract at the end of the season and Aberdeen are desperate to keep hold of him. However, they run the risk of losing him on a free transfer in June meaning they may have to cash in on him this month. Brentford are also believed to be monitoring his situation.

He has four caps for Scotland to his name and made his debut for his country last May in a game against Peru. His brother, Andrew, plays for League One side Luton Town.

Shinnie, who can also play as a left-back if needed, has played over 350 games so far in his career and they have all come in Scotland.

He started out at Inverness Caledonian Thistle as a youngster and had a brief loan stint at Forres Mechanics in 2010 in the Scottish Highland League. On his return to Inverness, Shinnie went onto establish himself in their first-team and played 187 games for them in total.

Shinnie captained Inverness to their Scottish Cup triumph in 2015, prior to his switch to Aberdeen. He has since been a key player for the Dons but could now be set for a new chapter in his career with Hull City showing a keen interest in bringing him to play football in England for the first time.
