Samu Saiz could make his debut in tonight’s game for Getafe against Barcelona. Most fans have realised the move for Saiz was needed if he felt like he couldn’t settle in Leeds. He and his partner are expecting a child and wanted to move back to their home country.
When you just isolate the move and not the reasons and certainly not from a Leeds United view it makes perfect sense. Leeds United are a huge club in our eyes, for many sleeping giants and certainly a club used to losing good players in recent years. Samu Saiz could take the field with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez tonight in a league that is packed with wonderful players. His reasons for leaving must have been valid for Marcelo Bielsa and Andrea Radrizzani to sanction a loan move, and Orta for that matter, and it has to be respected.

The deal doesn’t do much for Leeds United, the club are the only party involved to really lose out. Getafe get a quality player on loan, a player who will be doing everything he can to earn a full-time contract and Saiz gets to go back to Spain. Leeds don’t get much money and lose one of the most talented players at the football club, not just now but in the last few years.
Saiz arrived from Spain a year-and-a-half ago and made an immediate impact, bagging a hat-trick on his debut for the club in the League Cup. His trickery and ability caught the imagination of Leeds United fans immediately and he fast became one of the most popular players at the club in recent history. Saiz dipped after the FA Cup incident at Newport County, but in dramatic fashion and didn’t look the same player after. After a good start tis season he dropped off again and his final appearance saw a frustrated and deflated Saiz take the field.
