According to Guardian Sport writer Ed Aarons, Manchester City, Huddersfield and Crystal Palace are all interested in signing Sunderland top-scorer Josh Maja after his agent tells the player to snub a new contract.
This afternoon, Sunderland owner Stewart Donald has tweeted an interesting update from his account about the current situation, regarding Josh Maja:
@SunderlandAFC Josh Maja update. Yesterday Josh asked to see Jack to say he will sign. Today I got a call from Sky TV saying he won’t sign. Josh advised his agent has said don’t sign but no courtesy to tell the club – Also we offered what the agent indicated!!! Busy January ahead

Maja has been in brilliant form for Sunderland this season, scoring 14 goals in 23 games in League One this season – and is beginning to attract interest from both the Premier League and overseas as a result of his goalscoring form for the Black Cats.
The 20-year-old looks to be a really exciting young prospect and would certainly be a great addition to Huddersfield Town, who appear to be severely lacking in goals in the Premier League this season.
If a Premier League club is to come calling, it may be unlikely that Sunderland will be able to hold onto one of their most prized assets – and if he has turned down the option to extend his contract, Sunderland may be keen to cash in on the striker as quickly as possible.
It’s going to be a nervous few weeks for Sunderland fans, that’s for sure.
