It is to Doncaster that Wilks returns, extending his loan there that was due to end tomorrow. It was something that Rovers manager Grant McCann said that he’d welcome, mentioning so to the Doncaster Free Press.
In their piece McCann said: “Until he signs a new contract with Leeds, he won’t be signing his extension here. We’re hoping that is going to be done on Monday – or the latest, Wednesday.”
With that contract now signed, McCann can look forward to fulfilling what he mention to the Free Press when he stated: “He’s quick, he’s strong, he’s direct. He brings so much to us. “But there’s so much more to come from him. That is my job now to get the best out of him for the rest of the season.”
Next up for Wilks is a home game at the Keepmoat against Rochdale, a side beaten 4-0 at home by Bradford City in their last outing.
