Stoke City targeting move for Fortuna Düsseldorf winger

Stoke City have an interest in Fortuna Dusseldorf winger Kenan Karaman, according to The Mirror.

The Potters are plotting potential targets for the January transfer window as they look to further bolster their squad.

Gary Rowett’s side are now unbeaten in 10 games after beating Millwall 1-0 yesterday at the Bet365 Stadium yesterday. They are now 9th in the league and four points off the Play-Offs and are looking to force their way into the promotion picture.

Stoke are apparently looking to bring in a winger in January, hence the reported interest in Karaman.

The 24-year-old, who is a Turkey international, only joined Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf in the summer on a three-year deal but is already being linked with a move away. He has played nine games in the league this season.

Karaman started his career with a spell as a youngster at Stuttgart but was signed by Hoffenheim in 2009. He established himself as a key player for their reserve side but was never able to break into their first-team so left them in 2014 to join Hannover 96.

He spent four seasons at Hannover and was a real fans’ favourite there. However, he made the summer switch to fellow Bundesliga side Dusseldorf in the summer but could be now set to depart Germany for the first time in his career.

It is exciting time to be a Stoke fan again after turning their season around. They are expected to be busy in the January transfer window next month with Karaman a potential acquisition.
