Five potential candidates to replace Jos Luhukay at Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday have sacked Jos Luhukay, as confirmed by their official club website. Here are five potential candidates to replace him-

Steve Bruce- The Owls are interested in the 58-year-old, as reported by The72 earlier today. He is available after his sacking by Aston Villa at the end of October. Bruce has won promotion from the Championship four times, twice with Birmingham City and twice with Hull City.

Slavisa Jokanovic- He is another in the frame for the Hillsborough vacancy. The Serbian boss was harshly dismissed by Fulham last month despite getting them promoted to the Premier League last season. He has also previously managed Watford in this country.

Carlos Carvalhal- There are some rumours linking him with a return to Sheffield Wednesday on social media. He guided them to the Play-Offs twice in his two full seasons at the club in 2015/16 and 2016/17. He surely wouldn’t go back, would he?

Lee Bullen- He will be placed in caretaker charge until a replacement for Jos Luhukay is found. The 47-year-old has been a coach with the Owls since 2011 and played over 100 games for them in his playing days. He is in the running for the full-time job but it is unlikely that the Wednesday hierarchy will turn to him permanently.

Nigel Pearson- He played just under 200 games for the Owls as a player and is an outsider for the job. The former Southampton, Leicester City, Hull City and Derby County boss is currently the manager of Belgian side OH Leuven but is apparently keen on returning to England.
