Leeds United, Derby County and Middlesbrough all tracking former Real Madrid striker

Leeds United, Derby County, Middlesbrough and Swansea City are just four of the clubs believed to be scouting former Real Madrid striker Fran Sol, according to Teamtalk.

Championship quartet Leeds United, Derby County, Middlesbrough and Swansea have all reportedly scouted Spanish striker Fran Sol – who has been in electric form for Dutch side Willem II.

Sol started his career as a youngster at local academy AV Vicalvaro, before joining the academy at La Liga side Rayo Vallecano. After two years with Vallecano, Sol joined the Real Madrid youth set up, where he went on to spend 10 years.

After eight years in the Real Madrid academy, Sol was promoted to the Real Madrid C team. He played 69 times for the third string side, scoring 19 goals along the way. After four years, the Spaniard swapped Real Madrid for Villareal, where he only made two appearances for the senior team. However, he featured for B team 73 times, scoring 27 times.

After another unsuccessful spell in Spain, Sol moved to Willem II in The Netherlands, where he has become a resounding success. In his first season, he scored 10 goals and followed that up with 20 goals in the 2017/18 campaign. Sol has continued his good form in Holland this season, scoring an impressive 15 goals in 18 games so far.

His performances have been catching the eyes of clubs across the United Kingdom. Scottish duo Rangers and Celtic are both tracking the striker, while Premier League clubs Burnley, Cardiff and Huddersfield are also keeping tabs on the Spaniard.

Championship quartet Leeds United, Derby County, Middlesbrough and Swansea are all also looking the striker, with Willem II looking like they have a fight on their hands to keep their star striker.
