Aston Villa midfielder on the radar of “a number” of League One clubs

A number of League One clubs are eyeing up loan moves for Aston Villa’s midfield prospect Jake Doyle-Hayes, according to HITC Sport. 

Aston Villa’s midfield starlet Jake Doyle-Hayes is the subject of interest from a number of League One clubs, all looking to bring the youngster in on loan for the second half of the season.

At 19-years-old, Doyle-Hayes has started to break into the first team picture under new manager Dean Smith at Aston Villa. The midfielder played twice under Steve Bruce in the EFL Cup last season, starting against Wigan Athletic and Middlesbrough.

Doyle-Hayes has made one appearance this season, playing against Yeovil Town in the EFL Cup, and has made his way onto the Villa bench against Burton Albion and Nottingham Forest so far this campaign.

The Irish youngster has featured for the Aston Villa Under 23s on 48 occasions in his short career, playing 20 times for the Under 18s as well. After impressing for the youngsters and making his way into the senior squad on a few occasions, the 19-year-old is catching the eye of football league clubs.

Doyle-Hayes could be loaned out to a League One or Two side for the second half of the season to get some more senior experience under his belt to help his development.

However, the youngster may opt to remain at his parent club. Dean Smith has been successful at bringing through young talent in his time as a manager. At Brentford, he oversaw the development of players such as Alfie Mawson and Ollie Watkins, so it could be better for Doyle-Hayes to stay with Smith to further his development.
