Aston Villa, Derby County and West Brom targeting Chelsea forward

Aston Villa, Derby County and West Brom are all targeting Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Birmingham Live.

The highly-rated 18-year-old is likely to leave Chelsea on loan in the January transfer window to gain some first-team experience.

Aston Villa are hoping to use their assistant manager John Terry’s links with the Premier League giants to land him.

However, the Midlands side will have to face competition from fellow Championship side Derby County for his signature. Frank Lampard will go head to head with his former Blues’ teammate Terry for Hudson-Odoi. He has already used his contacts at Stamford Bridge to loan Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori this season.

West Brom are the final club to be credited with an interest in Hudson-Odoi. The Baggies will be in the hunt for some reinforcements to their squad in January and could see him as someone who will give them something different going forward.

Hudson-Odoi joined Chelsea in 2007 and has risen through the youth ranks with them.

He has been a key player for their youth sides over recent years and has helped them win the FA Youth Cup two years in a row. The tricky winger has also represented England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 level and was part of the U17’s side who won their World Cup last year.

Hudson-Odoi has also made five appearances for Chelsea’s first-team so far in his career and made his debut in an FA Cup fixture against fellow Premier League side Newcastle United in January. Is he on his way to the Championship in January?
