A host of top half Championship sides are set to go head-to-head for the signature of Fulham’s young playmaker Luca de la Torre, with the American set to be allowed to leave on loan when the January transfer window opens.
Fulham midfielder Luca de la Torre is on the radar of many Championship clubs, as well as clubs from abroad. With the arrival of new manager Claudio Ranieri, he is set to come in and assess his new squad, before deciding who will be staying and who will be allowed to leave when the January transfer window opens.
Despite not naming any specific teams, HITC Sport’s Pete O’Rourke reports that clubs from the ‘top end’ of the Championship are keeping an eye on the youngster, and could make a move for the 20-year-old.
Youngster de la Torre joined up with Fulham back in 2013, when he left San Diego Surf in his native country United States. After spending three years in the academy, the playmaker joined up with the first team, making 10 first team appearances in his time at Craven Cottage.
So far this season, de la Torre has made two first team appearances for the senior team and once in the EFL Trophy for the Under-23s. The arrival of new manager Ranieri provides the American with an opportunity to prove himself to try and break into the first team.
However, in the event that the 20-year-old remains in the reserves, clubs will be lining up to offer him a route out of Craven Cottage. Clubs from France, Holland, Germany, Portugal and Belgium have all expressed an interest in the youngster.
