Blackpool one of several clubs keeping tabs on Exeter City star

League One side Blackpool are just one club among a host of others to be keeping an eye of Exeter City’s centre back Luke Croll, according to HITC Sport.

Former Crystal Palace defender Luke Croll has been putting in some stellar performances for League Two side Exeter City, helping them into the Play-Off positions with 17 games gone.

The defender’s performances have caught the eye of Blackpool, and a host of other clubs are reportdely keeping an eye on Croll.

Croll has made 15 appearances at centre back for The Grecians, with 12 of those coming in the League. League One Blackpool are believed to have watched Luke Croll on several occasions this seasons, and are reportedly lining up a move for the defender when the January window opens in a month and a half.

The 23-year-old spent his youth career in the academy of Premier League side Crystal Palace, but didn’t make a single appearance in his time at Selhurst Park and was released upon the expiry of his contract in summer 2017.

Croll spent the 2014 campaign on loan at Harrow Borough, before joining Football League club Plymouth Argyle for the first half of the 2015/16 season. On deadline day of the Summer 2016 season, Croll joined Exeter on an initial short-term loan spell, before extending the deal to the end of the 2016/17 campaign. Upon his return to Palace, he was released and moved to Exeter City on a permanent basis.

The 23-year-old has come in to fill the gap left by former defender Jordan Moore-Taylor, who followed Paul Tisdale to Milton Keynes Dons in the summer window.
