Sheffield Wednesday are looking to get their season back on track with a win over Sheffield United tonight.
The Blades are the bookies’ favourites for a home win but the Owls will be looking to prove people wrong and earn a precious three points.
Wednesday have lost their last four games in the Championship and have slid down the table as a result. It was not long ago they were in sixth place but they have suddenly hit some dire form.
A 4-0 home defeat to promotion hopefuls Norwich City has heaped some major pressure on Owls’ boss Jos Luhukay. His future will be in even more doubt if his side lose to bitter rivals United tonight.
The visitors earned a creditable point in this fixture at Bramall Lane last season after going down to ten men in Luhukay’s first game in charge. A lot has changed since then and their rivals will be looking to go top of the league with a win tonight.
Prediction- Sheffield United 1 Sheffield Wednesday 0. The hosts are so strong at home and are on top form at the moment, despite losing last weekend. It will be a close game but a fifth straight defeat for Wednesday looks likely.
Here is what their fans have been saying on Twitter ahead of the game-
If ever we needed that first clean sheet of the season it’s today!!!! @swfc #swfc #wawaw

Off to town for lots of beers . Obviously hoping we win . Need to show some passion that us as fans and especially away fans have showed this season . A good advert for Sheffield the proper home of football and not the sky remote #wawaw #swfc

Never been as less confident as I am about tonight, but I was confident at Hillsborough last season and look what happened there. Work hard do your jobs and at least attack them and I’m happy. WAWAW 💙 #swfc
