Hull City delved into the transfer market to sign eight players over the summer. Here is a rating for all of them out of ten-
George Long (Sheffield United), 5/10- It is difficult to give him a rating seen as he’s only played once for the Tigers in the Carabao Cup. He is obviously a goalkeeper who Nigel Adkins trusts as he’s managed him at both Sheffield United and City now. He is an adequate back-up for David Marshall.
Eric Lichaj (Nottingham Forest), 8/10- He has been a really shrewd signing. The American international is experienced in the Championship and does a solid job in defence. It is surprising that Forest let him go.
Jordy de Wijs (PSV Eindhoven), 6/10- The Dutchman has had a couple of shaky games but the promise is there. He is young, strong , good in the air and as his confidence grows, he could turn out to be an important player for City in the future.
Tommy Elphick (Aston Villa), 9/10- Very good signing. He has come in and tightened up the backline. He has been pivotal in City’s past two games in which they have kept two clean sheet. The Tigers will be hoping he joins on a permanent deal.
Reece Burke (West Ham United), 7/10- The 22-year-old is another with a bright future ahead of him at the KCOM Stadium and will only get better.
Todd Kane (Chelsea), 7/10- He is a useful player and is important to Nigel Adkins. Kane is versatile and can slot in in defence, on the wing and in central midfield if ever needed. Squad players are always useful.
David Milinkovic, (Genoa), 2/10- The winger never plays so can’t give him a good rating. He has played just twice in the league and was sent off for the Under-23’s last week. Not going well for him so far.
Chris Martin (Derby County), 5/10- He is a good option for City but still hasn’t scored. Martin is proven in the Championship and just needs a goal for the Tigers.
