QPR set to complete double signing

QPR are set to sign free agents Lewis Walker and Charlie Rowan, as per a report by London Football News.

Both of the youngsters have been on trial with the London side over the past few weeks and look to have done enough to earn contracts.

Lewis Walker is the son of former England defender Des Walker. He was released by fellow Championship side Derby County at the end of last season but is being handed a route back into the game by QPR.

He started his career in non-league football with Ilkeston Town and impressed for them before being snapped up by the Rams in 2016. Walker never made a senior appearance for Derby but progressed from their Under-18’s to their Under-23’s side during his time at Pride Park. He also gained some first-team experience during a brief loan spell at National League North side Darlington.

Rowan, on the other hand, was released by Premier League side Watford in May and has since spent time with Italian Serie A outfit Torino.

The 20-year-old never made a senior appearance for Watford but was a regular for the Hornet’s youth sides throughout his years at Vicarage Road. He was previously the captain of their Under-18’s side. He also had a brief loan stint at Accrington Stanley last season to gain some experience but was not able to make an appearance.

Both Walker and Rowan are set to be handed a second chance by QPR and will be looking to grasp it with both hands.
