West Brom are set to sign winger Bakary Sako on a free transfer, as reported by The72 earlier today.
The Baggies are currently 4th in the Championship table after eight games and are four points off the league leaders Leeds United. It is still early days but Darren Moore’s side are looking good at the moment. The likely signing of Bakary Sako will boost their chances of promotion.
West Brom were relegated from the Premier League last season and are hopeful of an immediate return back to the top flight. They had a busy summer as Moore looked to put his own stamp on them and it was a major boost to keep hold of key first-team players like Jay Rodriguez, Kieran Gibbs and Craig Dawson.
They delved into the transfer market to sign the likes of Sam Johnstone, Kyle Bartley, Tyrone Mears, Conor Townsend, Harvey Barnes, Dwight Gayle, Tosin Adarabioyo, Jonathan Bond and Wes Hoolahan. The Baggies don’t want to stop there and Bakary Sako is set to be the next through the entrance door at the Hawthorns, despite the transfer window being shut.
The 30-year-old winger has bags of experience in the English game from spells at Wolves and Crystal Palace and he will be a great attacking option for Darren Moore. His pace and power will cause problems for Championship defences. Here is how West Brom fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that he is set to join them-

Worth signing Bakaray Sako if only for how much it seems to have annoyed Wolves fans, considering they're in a tier above us and comfortably better at the moment you wouldn't think they'd care. #wba

If true Sako is a decent signing. Great in this league. Just seems this signing may push Ollie further away from getting appearances. Looks like the signing of him has been a right waste of money #wba
