Potential Leeds United XI vs Preston North End

Preston are struggling to find points this season, their first away win of the new campaign came in the League Cup at Elland Road. Alex Neil will want a repeat of that against a Leeds United side still unbeaten in the league and still without four key players. Marcelo Bielsa will want to build on a point gained at the New Den on Saturday.

Potential XI

GK – Baily Peacock-Farrell – The young keeper didn’t have loads to do at Millwall but what he had to he dealt with brilliantly. Little doubt about his importance to the side these days.

RB – Luke Ayling – Preston will look to get Callum Robinson on the ball as much as possible. The ex-Manchester United youngster may play centrally, but when he goes wide Ayling will need to be at his best to keep him under control.

CB – Pontus Jansson – Made 17 clearances on his own at Millwall, a staggering statistic. The man of the match and he will want to make sure he doesn’t lose it when Berardi returns.

CB – Liam Cooper – Having a good season and looked good on Saturday. Wasn’t far behind Jansson in terms of performance on Saturday.

LB – Barry Douglas – Had a steady game at Millwall but will want to get into more advanced positions tomorrow. To be fair to him he wasn’t helped going forward by the performance of Gjanni Alioski.

DM – Kalvin Phillips – Will be back in his more natural position of defensive midfield tomorrow. Played as a sweeper on Saturday really, the deepest of a back three that included Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper.

CM – Mateusz Klich – Another who had to play in a slightly different position on Saturday and it seemed to affect the whole team. Without his runs forward we looked a bit toothless. He drags midfielders deep, nobody else really manages that for us.

RW – Jack Harrison – Nothing like scoring your first Leeds goal in the last minutes of a game away at Millwall in front of the travelling fans. A great moment for a player who should now kick on massively. Bags of potential.

LW – Gjanni Alioski – Had a howler for the second season in a row at Millwall. Needs to be so much better tomorrow.

ST – Tyler Roberts – Came in for a lot of criticism on Saturday but we have to remember his situation. First start in nine months and first as a striker under Bielsa.
