Former Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jordan Allan is set to go on trial at Sky Bet League One club Barnsley according to reports by the Scottish Sun.
The 19-year-old Hamilton-born frontman is currently searching for a new club after failing to make an impression at Molineux.
Allan had a trial at Sky Bet Championship club Bolton Wanderers earlier this summer but was not offered a contract by The Trotters and it has now been revealed that the youngster will spend time with Barnsley as he looks to impress head coach Daniel Stendel.
Following their relegation from the second tier last season, the South Yorkshire club are targeting an immediate return by winning promotion this term. Barnsley have started the season well but must not become over-reliant upon the goals of prolific frontman Kieffer Moore who has already netted six times during the opening weeks of the campaign.
Striker Allan started his career north of the border with Airdrieonians where he become the youngest-ever player to play senior football in Britain when he made his debut for The Diamonds at just 14 years 189 days. That record was previously held by former Barnsley man Reuben Noble-Lazarus.
In May 2014, Allan joined Wolverhampton Wanderers and initially linked up with their under-18 squad. The teenager has been unable to push for senior honours at Molineux and he was released at the end of last season.
