New Middlesbrough signing says he can help them win promotion

In discussion with the official Middlesbrough club website, new Middlesbrough defender Danny Batth believes the experience he can provide, along with countless others in the squad, can contribute towards a tilt at promotion back into the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has twice won promotion during his career, including last season as Wolves won the Sky Bet Championship title. Batth is of the opinion that the squad Tony Pulis has assembled at The Riverside Stadium is more than good enough to challenge near the top end of the table.

Boro currently sit joint-top with Leeds United at the summit after six matches. They now enter the international break, where Batth believes Pulis can further work his magic to turn the team into a well run unit,

“I think I’ve got good experience now.

“I’ve played a number of games and captained Wolves for a long time.

“Hopefully I can add to an already experienced dressing room we’ve got here at Middlesbrough, fit in and enjoy it.

“I’ve seen the lads play a few times on the telly, the manager’s got a lot of experience and it’s a great set-up.

“I think the players, the supporters and everyone likewise will want to get promoted, but at the same time it’s one thing saying it and another thing doing it.

“We’ve got a lot of hard work to do between now and the end of the season and hopefully we will be there or thereabouts.”

Following the international break, Batth will be hoping to make his debut when they travel to Norwich City, in a repeat of the 2015 Championship play-off final, which the Canaries won 2-0.
