Brentford eyeing up move for Crystal Palace prodigy

Brentford are eyeing up a late move for Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai, according to Sky Sports News.

Sullay Kaikai could be returning to Championship side Brentford for a second spell at Griffin Park, after spending the first half of the 2016 Championship season with The Bees. Palace are looking to let some of their youngsters out on loan in the final days of the transfer window, and Kaikai is expected to be one of the players on their way out.

Sky Sports News report that Brentford are looking at completing a loan deal for the winger, and the deal could include an option to make the deal permanent in January.

Kaikai graduated from the Crystal Palace academy in 2013, and has spent every season since on loan with Crawley, Cambridge, Shrewsbury, Brentford and Charlton. However, it seems that the Englishman could be set for a permanent move away from Selhurst Park, with Brentford ready to pounce.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson doesn’t see Kaikai in his first team plans, with Wilfred Zaha and Andros Townsend ahead of the 23-year-old in the pecking order. Kaikai would provide more options and support in the wide areas for Brentford, alongside Ollie Watkins, Said Benrahma, Sergi Canos and Chiedozie Ogbene.

Kaikai is a pacey winger, possessing good strength and dribbling ability. The Palace academy graduate is a right-footed left winger, allowing him to cut inside from the wing and play on the right hand side as well. Not only a creative threat, Kaikai can be a goalscorer as well. In his two spells at Shrewsbury, the winger scored 12 goals in 26 league games.

The clubs have until Friday to complete a loan deal, with the loan window closing in just two days time.
