Marcelo Bielsa rejects chance to leave Leeds United after International management offer

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly rejected the chance to become manager of the Mexico national team, according to Fox Sports.

Marcelo Bielsa has made an impressive start to life as manager of Leeds United, and has reportedly already rejected a chance to leave Elland Road to become the new Mexico national coach.

Juan Carlos Osorio left his role as manage of the Mexico national team after the World Cup in Russia this summer, and the Mexican Football Federation reportedly moved in for Marcelo Bielsa as a replacement. Bielsa has only been United since June, but it didn’t stop Mexico from making an optimistic offer.

The Fox Sports article states that Bielsa is committed to staying with Leeds, and rejected the offer out of respect for his new employers. The Argentine has made an impressive start to life in the Championship, with his ‘Bielsaball’ tactics helping Leeds climb to the top of the league after four games.

The Argentine is committed to the project at Elland Road, and has the full support of Whites fans after their successful start to the season. Supporters are thrilled with the early progress the 63-year-old has made, introducing a new style of football to Elland Road, much to the delight of United fans.

Bielsa would be seen as a heroic figure in Leeds if he helped United return to the Premier League after a 14 abscence. However, the Argentine has insisted that it is too early to be talking about promotion, with 42 games still remaining.

“What happened in the games so far don’t mark anything definite. It’s too early to draw conclusions. In each game we will have to prove ourselves again. This is a competition where you have to show regularity. It’s important to bear this in mind.

“I always think about the continuity of a performance. This is the most important thing. In any competition you have ups and you have downs.”
