He’s gone where? – John Terry’s latest move confirmed

John Terry’s time at Aston Villa may have raised mixed opinions, the former club captain showed that age is just a number as he guided the Villa to the playoff final. Following his departure, the 37-year-old kept a tight hold on the club, with former owner Tony Xia still owing the former England captain thousands due to a clause in his contract, which further strangled the club in financially scarce times.

Refusing to hang up his boots just yet, Terry has agreed to take on a temporary role as a pundit for Egyptian TV. Terry has been hired as an analyst to discuss Egyptian side Pyramids FC (yes that is actually their name). Formerly known as Al Assiouty, the club has been bought by tycoon Turki Al Alshaikh.

The central defender arrives in Egypt alongside fellow legends Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho and Robbie Keane in the hopes of raising the profile of the Egyptian Premier League.

The injection of said high profile pundits could open the gates for some marquee signings. The Egyptian league may end up following in the footsteps of league’s such as China and Qatar, with a little influx of cash to persuade the big names.

The veteran defender’s most likely destination will be a move to the US, with the defender looking for one last pay cheque before the end of a glittering career. A move to the Premier League would be off the cards after the defender controversially stated his intent to sit out any fixture against Chelsea, too much backlash from the public.
