West Brom target to take last minute move to Wolves

With less than an hour remaining in this summers transfer window, there have been reports from Turkish media that West Brom target Josef de Souza may be taking a last-minute move to join Wolves.

De Souza has been linked with a few teams in England during this transfer window including Crystal Palace and West Brom, with The Baggies having been linked with the player for more than a year, with an offer being placed for the central midfielder for around £11 million in last seasons transfer market, however the deal fell through when they discovered they could sign PSG midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak.

Reports have come in during the past week that the midfielder would be made available with interest from English clubs. And according to Milliyet, Wolves have put in a £10 million bid for the player.

Despite De Souza being a solid performer at Fenerbahce, it is understood that the club want to sell the player in order to avoid being sanctioned from Financial Fair Play laws, which would free up funds so the Turkish side could sign an eagerly awaited striker.

West Brom are still being linked with potential central midfield targets, and it is understood that the Baggies are giving one final push to sign Columbian international and ex Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez following the departure of Claudio Yacob.

With one loss and one draw from the first two fixtures in the championship for West Brom, it could be essential for them to sign a strong defensive midfielder, but have they left it too late?
