Middlesbrough handed huge boost in £15m deal – winger on his way?

Middlesbrough have been handed a huge boost in a £15m deal for winger Yannick Bolasie, as Everton look set to sign Brazilian midfielder Bernard today, suggesting that the winger could be on his way out of the club.

Middlesbrough’s interest in Bolasie is likely to have been driven by Tony Pulis who spent time with Bolasie during his time with Crystal Palace and although it would give the winger the chance to link up with his former boss who he enjoyed so much success with; it would also mean that he wouldn’t be able to play in the Premier League next season; something which is seen as important to the midfielder.

Bernand has scored 14 goals in 96 games for Shakhtar Donetsk and will be an exciting signing for the Toffees, although this could spend the end of Yannick Bolasie’s time at Goodison Park, with Everton also bringing in attacking-midfielder Richarlison earlier in the transfer window, which will more than likely limit that Democratic Republic of Congo winger’s chances of making Marco Silva’s starting XI.

A deal for Bolasie is thought to be around £15m which would be £10m less than the original £25m fee that Everton paid to bring the winger from Selhurst Park in the first place.

Middlesbrough are though to have an abundance of cash, after selling winger Adama Traore to Premier League Wolves for £20m and defender Ben Gibson to Burnley for £15m – so they can easilly affrord Bolasie; the issue is convincing the player to come to the Championship before the window shuts at 5pm today.
