Middlesbrough have been busy this week and are still looking to bolster their squad before deadline day’s 5pm finish.
Here are five players Middlesbrough could still sign on deadline day.
1. Yannick Bolasie – Everton
Boro have been linked with a shock move for Everton’s Yannick Bolasie, but do face Premier League competition from Burnley and Crystal Palace.
It is reported that Bolasie may prefer a reunion with former manager Tony Pulis, who he worked under at Crystal Palace in the 2013-14 season.
Middlesbrough are looking to the DR Congo wide man as a direct replacement for Adama Traore, who joined Wolves this week in a £20 million deal.
2. Muhamed Besic – Everton
Reports suggest Middlesbrough are actively looking to bring both Bolasie and Besic from Everton to The Riverside.
Besic spent a short-term loan at Boro last season and impressed in his time at the club, and Pulis wants to bring the Bosnian back to Middlesbrough.
3. Albert Adomah – Aston Villa
After not being offered a new contract at Villa Park, Adomah’s current situation has plenty of Championship clubs circling.
Adomah spent three years at Middlesbrough and played over 100 games for the Teessiders. He was certainly a fan favourite and many supporters would welcome him back with open arms.
4. Sheyi Ojo – Liverpool
Middlesbrough are seemingly in the market for a new winger, with Bolasie, Adomah and Ojo linked, it looks to be a priority for Tony Pulis.
Ojo has been part of Liverpool’s pre-season and Jurgen Klopp has expressed his interest in sending out the winger on loan.
5. Jed Wallace – Millwall
The Millwall man was subject to a bid from Middlesbrough this week, as Boro bid £10 million for Wallace and fellow-Millwall midfielder George Saville.
Wallace is another wide player who Boro are monitoring and may be pursuing up to the 5pm deadline.
