European interest in £5million Aston Villa midfielder

The Birmingham Mail understands that there is interest in clubs from both Belgium and Cyprus for out of favour Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Tshibola. Whilst the player has a preference to remain in the UK, time is running out for him to secure a permanent move out of Villa Park.

It is now almost impossible for Aston Villa to recoup all, or even most of, the £5million fee that paid Reading in 2016 when snapping up the player. Since then, he has only made ten appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal in that time. He spent time with Kilmarnock on loan last season, which proved to be quite a productive move.

Steve Bruce will not be calling upon the player at all, baring the biggest of injury crisis, meaning the player himself is looking to move on. The fact there is European interest in him means that there is not a pressing desire for him to leave before 5pm today, considering their transfer window remains open for a little while longer yet. The same applies in the UK regarding loan moves, which is another possible way for Tshibola to leave the club again.

Ross McCormack is another player badly out of favour with the club, and they paid an even bigger fee when signing him up. He is another that could head overseas. Micah Richards is in the same boat, but he currently has an injury concern which would halt any possible move, plus his high wages mean it is proving impossible to get him off the books.
