Aston Villa convince Jack Grealish to sign a new contract – with two HUGE clauses

According to the Daily Star, Aston Villa have convinced Jack Grealish to sign a new contract – but it comes with two key clauses, that the player will be allowed to move on next summer if Villa fail to earn promotion to the Premier League, and also that he will double his money from £20,000-a-week to a whopping £40,000-a-week.

Grealish was thought to be devastated yesterday as Villa prevented him from making his dream move to Champions League contenders Tottenham Hotspur, who came in with a hefty £25m offer for the Aston Villa midfielder.

This comes just 12 hours after a story ran that Jack Grealish would ‘never’ sign a contract with his boyhood club once again; which suggests that the club have had some serious conversations with the young attacking midfielder about his future at Villa Park.

There had been talk that Spurs would pay Aston Villa’s valuation for Grealish this week, however, due to the new executive chairman Nassef Sawiris saying that the young midfielder was no longer for sale, the clubs were not able to discuss terms (Irish Times).

Tottenham are now expected to be on the lookout for new targets to add to their squad before the transfer window closes, with names including Manchester United’s Anthony Martial being on the potential list.
Grealish, who still has two years left on his contract has been described as being frustrated at the club due to them not being willing to let him leave, after being told that he would be able to leave if any suitable bids are received.
The young midfielder was given great support when he was substituted in the 83rd minute during his side’s victory against Hull on Monday, emphasizing that his popularity at Villa Park.
