Tottenham Hotspur could add player in deal for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish

Tottenham Hotspur could add Josh Onomah in a deal to sign Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, according to the Evening Standard.

The Premier League giants have seen their first bid of £25 million rejected by Aston Villa as the Championship side hold out for their valuation of around £32 million.

Spurs are now weighing up a second move for Grealish but are apparently reluctant to meet his asking price. Therefore, they may try and use Josh Onomah as part of the deal to see if this tempts Aston Villa to cash in.

Onomah, who is an England Under-21 international, spent last season on loan at Villa under Steve Bruce. The 21-year-old played 37 games in all competitions for them and chipped in with 4 goals.

The Enfield-born midfielder has a bright future ahead of him in the game and has already played 32 games for Spurs’ first-team so far in his career.

He would be a good option for Villa if they do sell Jack Grealish to Spurs before tomorrow’s transfer deadline. Steve Bruce is desperate to keep hold of him as he looks to get his side promoted to the Premier League this season.

Grealish rose through the youth ranks at Villa Park as a youngster and has gone onto play over 100 games for his boyhood club. His future with them has been in doubt all summer after their failure to gain promotion last season.

It will be a nail biting day or so for Aston Villa fans who will be praying that they keep hold of their prized asset.
