West Brom keen on loan move for Premier League right-back

West Bromwich Albion are keen on a loan move for Chelsea right-back Ola Aina, according to Football Insider.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Hull City in the Championship and played 46 games in all competitions for the Tigers, scoring once.

Aina is likely to be loaned out again by Chelsea for next season as they look to get him some more first-team action under his belt.

West Brom are interested in bringing him to the Hawthorns on a season-long loan deal as they look to further bolster their defence and get more depth to their right-back position.

The Baggies’ boss, Darren Moore, has so far signed goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from Manchester United, ex-Reading shot stopper Jonathan Bond as back-up, Kyle Bartley from Swansea City, Conor Townsend from Scunthorpe United and Harvey Barnes on loan from Leicester City.

Ola Aina could be next through the door at the Hawthorns. He was in Nigeria’s preliminary 30-man squad for the World Cup but ultimately missed out on a trip to Russia after not getting in the final 23.

He joined Chelsea at the age of 11 and rose through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge. He has played six times for their first-team so far in his career and has also helped their youth sides win various trophies like the Under-21’s Premier League, FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League.

Aina is a talented full-back with a bright future ahead of him. He will be a shrewd acquisition for the Baggies.
