Peterborough United chairman tired of being ‘used’

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has provided an update on a recent transfer target – but isn’t happy at all with how the saga has ended.

Peterborough United’s Darragh MacAnthony has been as vocal as ever on Twitter tonight, and this evening told his followers that he feels ‘used’ after the club’s recent chase of Mansfield Town striker Danny Rose.

MacAnthony posted the following thread on Twitter earlier tonight:

This is the second time MacAnthony feels The Posh have been used to drum up interest in a player, as in their pursuit of then-Cheltenham Town striker Mohamed Eisa, he stated he felt the Gloucestershire club deliberately publicised Posh’s interest in order to start a bidding war for the club’s top goalscorer of last season. Eisa has since moved to Championship club Bristol City after interest from Posh and Portsmouth.

Posh fans had begun speculating about Rose’s arrival from Mansfield upon Evans’ arrival, after he had an impressive spell under Evans last season. However, it seems that Rose will not be a Peterborough United player any time soon after this latest London Road transfer saga.
