Massive wages Leeds United have offered Matej Vydra revealed? – Leeds spending big

Journalist Alan Nixon has tweeted, suggesting that Leeds United will be paying Matej Vydra a healthy £40,000 per week next season if the striker is to move to Elland Road – not including all the additional clauses that would come along with any deal for the striker.

It’s thought that the club have struck a compromise, after offering the striker £30,000 per week initially, after being snubbed by the player who wanted to chase wages worth £50,000 per week and Premier League football. Both the player and the club seem to have struck a deal and found some middle ground though, with a deal worth £40,000 per week, that will still see Vydra become one of the Championship’s top earners.

A move from Leeds United for Vydra would come just after Derby County have announced the signing of Peterborough United striker, and remain keen on Ipswich Town forward Martyn Waghorn, suggesting that Vydra is on his way out of the Rams in the coming days.

Vydra is expected to cost somewhere around £11m and would bring a huge amount of excitement with him to Elland Road if he was to move. The fact the striker has been so prolific in the Championship over the past spells he’s spent in the division, and a move to Leeds would mean he would have a chance to link up with new Whites Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa, who is renowned for his attacking brand of football.

The striker netted 22 times for the Rams last season and has long been linked with a move to Leeds United during this transfer window. The West-Yorkshire club have been keen to bring the striker to Elland Road and it’s been rumoured that Vydra has been Bielsa’s number one transfer target during this window so far.
