Leeds make three more bids to accommodate likely Douglas signing

The Yorkshire Evening Post claims that Leeds United have tabled offers for three more players, not including Wolves defender Barry Douglas. It is anticipated Douglas will become the first permanent signing of the Marcelo Bielsa era, but three more may swiftly follow.

Leeds fans have grew frustrated at the lack of transfer movement since Bielsa was handed the job earlier this summer. With Douglas an eye-catching recruit, the Argentinian is hoping to make rapid strides to boost the overall balance to his roster. Three other bids have been tabled.

The Whites get their Sky Bet Championship campaign underway a week on Sunday as they welcome promotion favourites Stoke City to Elland Road. Douglas will hopefully be in the team that day, and three others could complement other new signings Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker.

It is unclear exactly who else Leeds are in the market for. Clearly there are certain positions that the former Athletic Bilbao and Marseille boss wants to improve before getting the season going. He has rotated his team on a regular basis in pre-season so far, but with friendlies now running out, he will soon need to develop something close to his preferred starting eleven.

Matej Vydra of Derby County and former Hull striker Abel Hernandez are two names that seemed almost inevitable to join the club earlier in the transfer window, before that talk went quiet rather quickly. Perhaps the pair may have reduced their wage demands to make them more of a realistic target? It may seem a little unlikely that is the case. Florian Jozefzoon of Brentford was a target too, but he decided to link up with Frank Lampard at Derby County.
