Liverpool youngster allowed to leave Anfield with Middlesbrough and Reading keen

According to The Telegraph, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is planning a clear out at the club to generate £100 million, and is looking to offload young winger Sheyi Ojo, who has been subject to interest from Middlesbrough and Reading.

Ojo has impressed in numerous stints in the Championship, and has had spells with Wolves, Wigan and Fulham. He has featured eight times for Liverpool’s first team however, but first team opportunities are at a premium for the 21-year old, who may look elsewhere to get more playing time.

Sheyi Ojo spent the season on-loan at Fulham in 2017/18, and rejected a move to Middlesbrough in favour of a switch to Craven Cottage. The winger went on to score four goals in 22 appearances for Fulham, but after being told he is allowed to leave Liverpool this time around, Middlesbrough have once again expressed an interest.

Boro face competition for the England Under-21 international however, with Reading and German side Wolfsburg keen on signing Ojo. According to the same report, Liverpool value him at £15 million, and with Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore possibly nearing the exit door, Ojo could be lined up as a direct replacement.

Ojo is quick and skilful, and gets fans off their seats similar to Traore. Youth is on his side, and £15 million could be a steal if he goes on to fulfil his potential in years to come.

Along with Ojo, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is looking to off-load Danny Ings, Lazar Markovic, Divock Origi and Pedro Chirivella in order to generate a transfer kitty to challenge for the Premier League next season.
