Musician with over 27 million listens on Spotify to go on trial with Luton Town

In one of the most bizarre stories of the day, Musician Tom Grennan has taken to Twitter to confirm that he will be trialing with Football Club Luton Town – despite the fact that he has launched a highly successful music career with over 27 million listens on Spotify.

The musician played last night at Sheffield’s Tramlines Festival to fans, but earlier, confirmed the fact that he will be trialing with League One club Luton ahead of this season.

Grennan took to Twitter to confirm that he would be trialing with the first team in between the forthcoming festival dates he has during this summer.

The musician recently released his debut album ‘Lighting Matches’ which has gained a popular reaction across the world of music, with his Spotify racking up a healthy 2 million monthly listeners at present.

Grennan’s song “Found what I’ve been looking for” also featured on Fifa 18 this season – but the musician could be featured as a player in the game, next season.

Luton Town will be taking the musician on trial during their first season back in League One since the 2007/2008 season in which they were relegated from the division.

The Hatters will be hoping for more success this season, after finishing second in League Two last season under the managerial guidance of Nathan Jones, who helped to take the club to the third-tier of English Football.

We’ll see if Grennan quits music for Football – but at present, its one of the more surprising transfer stories you’ll read this summer.
