Blackburn Rovers want to sign another defender- Three potential deals….

Blackburn Rovers are keen on signing another defender, according to the Lancashire Telegraph. Here are three players they should target-

Patrick Bauer, Charlton Athletic- Rovers have had bids rejected by Charlton for the German defender but have not given up hope on signing him just yet. He was a key player for the Addicks last season as they got to the Play-Offs in League One. The 25-year-old would be ideal for Blackburn as he has got experience of playing in the Championship before and has proven that he is ready for the step up from the third tier.

Matt Clarke, Portsmouth- The 21-year-old, who can play as either a left-back or centre-back, would be a great long-term signing by Blackburn Rovers. Clarke joined Pompey in 2016 from Ipswich Town and has established himself as a key player for them. He is highly-rated by Portsmouth so it would take a significant offer from Blackburn to lure him to Ewood Park. However, due to his age and him having first-team experience under his belt already, he would be a great addition for Blackburn.

Liam Lindsay, Barnsley- He could not prevent Barnsley from being relegated from the Championship last season but did show that he is comfortable at this level. Lindsay, who is 22-years-old, played 44 games for he Tykes last season in all competitions after joining them from Scottish Premier League side Partick Thistle last summer. He has a bright future ahead of him and is another long-term option for Tony Mowbray to explore.
