Could Leeds United or Nottingham Forest move for the ‘German Messi’?

Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are two clubs looking to strengthen in transfer window during the next few weeks for the forthcoming season. Forest want to make their squad even stronger, and Leeds United simply need to start actually making signings.

Former Schalke wonderkid Max Meyer is currently a free agent, and Leeds United or Nottingham Fores could do worse than making an audacious move for the forward, who is currently a free agent after being released from his contract at Schalke.

The midfielder scored 17 goals in 146 games for the German side and is only 22 years of age, highlighting the fact that his best years are ahead of him. His talent is undeniable, given the fact he’s played for the German National team and at the very top of the Bundesliga.

Meyer would cost a fortune in wages, but he would be an unbelievable signing for a Championship side who are targetting a promotion to the Premier League.

Wolves fans saw how beneficial spending big on a midfielder was last season, with Ruben Neves proving pivotal to the clubs success and if Leeds were to move for the midfielder, he would have an outrageously strong impact on the clubs fortunes for the forthcoming season.

Nottingham Forest are a club who have thrown money around like its going out of fashion during this transfer window – and it is possible they could bring the midfielder to the City Ground.

Although Meyer would cost a hefty wage packet, he would be moving as a free agent – which would soften the blow in terms of the wages he would cost a club.

It’s a longshot, but it’s possible. Leeds United need players and Nottingham Forest want to continue strengthening to ensure promotion – whether a deal is possible, remains to be unseen.
