Nottingham Forest’s new signings shone as they beat Malaga 3-0 in a pre-season friendly.
It’s been a mixed pre-season for Forest so far as while they won their first friendly 5-0 against Gibraltar side Lincoln Red Imps, they also lost 1-0 to Real Betis. But they capped off their time in Spain with a big win.
And their win was down to their new signings. The game was fairly even to begin with as both sides had chances which could have given them the lead. But Forest took the lead through Gil Dias. The new signing showed he could be devastating in the Sky Bet Championship as he raced through the Malaga defence before knocking it past the goalkeeper.
In the second half Forest just needed three minutes to put the game beyond doubt. Obviously wanting to have a better goal than Dias, Osborn blasted in to add another stunning goal to the highlight reel that was this game. And just two minutes later, another new signing, this time Hillal Soudani, got on the scoresheet when he was able to get past the defence and put the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 3-0. This capped off what would be a great win for Forest.
Nottingham Forest will next be in action on the 21st July when they face Oldham Athletic in another pre-season friendly. They will hope to get another win in that match especially as it will be a return to English soil. Their Sky Bet Championship campaign will start with a match against Bristol City.
