Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Darren Pratley has joined Sky Bet League One promotion hopefuls Charlton Athletic on a two-year deal according to News Shopper.
The 33-year-old Barking-born midfielder has a wealth of experience in the English Football League and has a couple of promotions already on his CV.
Pratley was released by former club Bolton Wanderers at the end of last season after seven years at the Macron Stadium and it has now been revealed that the player has agreed to join Charlton Athletic on a deal which will keep him at The Valley until summer 2020.
The midfielder came through the academy at West London club Fulham while he gained experience in the early days of his career with Brentford who he represented during two loan spells. A move to Swansea City followed where Pratley made 191 appearances in which he scored 30 goals. The player was part of the Swansea City side which won promotion to the second tier in 2007/2008.
In summer 2011, Pratley joined Bolton Wanderers on an initial four-year deal. The player went on to feature heavily for The Trotters as he made over 200 appearances in all competitions for the club. Pratley was given 32 outings for the Lancashire outfit last term as they avoided an immediate return back to Sky Bet League One.
During his time with Bolton Wanderers, Pratley captained the club as they won promotion from the third tier and that experience could be vital in helping new club Charlton Athletic achieve a similar goal.
